CHRIST CHURCH CofE FIRST SCHOOL & NURSERY :: Contact the school office

Contact the school office

Communication should be a two-way street between home and school, and we understand that parents, carers and families appreciate honest, clear, timely communication from school. Likewise, school staff appreciate honest, clear, timely communication from parents, carers and families, especially where this relates to the safety, health and well-being of a child.

As a matter of priority and urgency, please always tell the class teacher (or school office staff) ...

  • when someone else will be picking up your child at the end of the day
  • when you are running late to pick your child up from school
  • when your child is absent because they are sick or have a medical appointment
  • when your child will be late arriving at school
  • if you have seen or heard anything relating to the safeguarding or child protection of another child (whether they are a pupil at Christ Church or not)
  • if you have seen or heard anything relating to extremism and radicalisation or any criminal activity involving a child (whether they are a pupil at Christ Church or not).

Please contact us if you wish to be provided with a paper copy of the information on this website.

Here are some of the ways you can get in touch

Sometimes things are better said in a face-to-face conversation with a member of staff rather than over the phone, or in an email or letter. That’s why we operate an “open door” policy at Christ Church. So, if you have any worries or concerns, no matter how small, please speak with your child’s teacher or the class teaching assistant. (Please note: it may be necessary to arrange a five-minute meeting at the end of the school day; as you will appreciate, first thing in the morning is a very busy time of day in a school!)

As far as is possible in the day-to-day busyness of life in a school, the headteacher’s door is always open – and whenever it is not, an appointment can easily be made. See office staff to arrange a convenient time for a meeting.

Tel: 01373 463781

If you have a general enquiry please contact Caroline or Sara, our friendly office staff, who will do their best to answer your query or to put you in contact with someone else who can.

Office phones are usually staffed between 8am and 4pm during term time. If you call outside these hours or if the line is busy there will be an opportunity for you to leave an answerphone message.

General email correspondence should be sent to: sch.152@educ.somerset.gov.uk

If your email is intended for a specific member of staff please put a “For the attention of” heading in the subject field, e.g. “FAO Mr Smith”.
